Electronic Waste

Electronic Waste (e-waste) are used electronics that are considered at the end of their useful life. E-waste often contains hazardous elements such as lead and mercury and when dumped into landfills these toxins can infiltrate directly into the soil harming microorganisms and plant life for years to come. When e-waste is improperly dismantled and melted, this process releases toxic pollutants into the air and can have dangerous effects on human health. In 2019, only about 17% of electronic waste was documented to be collected and properly recycled globally1 and it is becoming the world’s most quickly growing waste source.

Make a positive impact this Earth Day by taking your e-waste to facilities that can properly dispose of the e-waste. This is a simple and sustainable solution to part ways with your electronics that are no longer useful.
